The Poetry of Candid Frames

January 30, 2024

Candid shot of a family laughing during a pre-wedding celebration.

Posed portraits preserve elegance. Candid frames preserve truth — the tear wiped away too quickly, the uncle who danced until midnight, the child asleep in a chair of brocade.

We position ourselves as guests with cameras, not directors with shot lists. The poetry emerges when people forget they are being photographed.

Years later, these are the images families return to first. Not because they are flawless, but because they are unmistakably real.
